PRESENTING | WELCOME TO THE NAT & DEE SHOW!

This week myself and co-host, Deepak Kumar, filmed a fashion tutorial for New Look to show case their wide collection of denims available in store.  I selected my two favourite pieces and talked about styling notes and why they are a must have for the season ahead.  I went for a lilac pair of jeggings and a high-waisted pair of supper skinnies, whilst Dee opted for an acid wash denim and another Middle East exclusive skinny.

Before I delve into the behind the scenes insights and outfit details, let me introduce you to Deepak who is New Look's Visual Conceptualiser.  Dee is the man that pulls the looks together whenever I am filming fashion TV for the brand and although he lets me choose my own outfits, he has to approve the looks before I go on camera.  Sometimes I get it right and other times he absolutely disagrees with what I have pulled together and he is brutally honest with his feed back on styling and fit which you just have to take on the chin.

Before the camera crew yells action, I have a few buzz words in my head that I want to talk about but generally these fashion episodes are not scripted.  Dee and I will run through the tutorial at least ten times before we start to film so we can execute them quite quickly with limited cuts.  Well this is what usually happens, however this particular day of filming we caught a nasty case of the giggles so we had to shoot this quite a few times because of the outbreaks of laughter.

One of the denims I selected was this lilac pair of jeggings, a pastel colour surprise surprise!  I opted for these as firstly as you know I am little bit obsessed with sorbet colours this season, yes I'm calling them sorbet instead of pastels now as it just sounds like summer.  And secondly, because their quite versatile to wear; a jegging looks great paired with nude pointy Jimmy Choos (or Louboutin if they don't cut up your feet) for a night out, or look equally great paired on with your favourite colour converse to hit the malls with at the weekend.  The other denim I opted for was a high wasted pair of jeans because one of my friends recently asked me if they were still in fashion and absolutely, they are!  The high-waist jean is a really flattering cut on most women, they singe you in at your smallest part and accentuate your waist whilst also holding you in around the tommy area (which means no more muffin tops hurray)!

BEHIND THE SCENES

OUTFIT DETAILS

I know you cannot see much of what I am actually wearing, I wanted to share my outfit details as there were a couple of really nice pieces that I loved, one being this pretty statement necklace I was wearing and the other were a black pair of jeggings (so comfy).  So starting from the top we have a grey and peach aztec tee, which was paired with this pretty flower necklace I love so much: the pinky hues work well to pull out the peach colour in the pattern of the tee shirt.  On my bottom half hidden behind the table I was wearing these black super skinny jegginngs which I am definitely going to buy (will probably do that today in fact since it looks pretty miserable outside). They were so flattering on and I never find jeggings that suit my shape but these fitted perfectly.

My ring bling was a set of different sized gold bands which I stacked on different fingers; and lastly I got to wear pumps (yay) I love being in flats and since no one was seeing my feet I had a comfy few hours work (big smiles all round).  Everything I was wearing was from New Look at The Dubai Mall.  As you can see from my last few posts, I have had to wear a lot of clothes from New Look recently because of all of the presenting gigs I have been doing for the brand.  Typically I would shop New Look for the basics I need in my wardrobe and now I am definitely going to shop their more often to get hold of the trend pieces you need from season to season.

I'll be uploading the episode on to my YouTube channel as soon as it is released from New Look, I can feel your anticipation already, but for now, have a great day x
