Purchase of the week: Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet and Correcteur Perfection. I have not been able to avoid the reviews about this foundation since it has become available in Dubai stores, so I had to try this wonder foundation out for myself and make my own verdict on the Chanel make-up must have.
I do love my beauty products, but I'm by no means a make-up addict. I just like what I like and would recommend the products that I use, but all of our skin types are different and what works for some may not work for others.
I was marching through Debenhams in Mall of the Emirates when I walked past the Chanel counter and the PLV foundation caught my eye and I had to try it just to see what the consistency was like. I tried some on the back of my hand and the colour looked odd so I was happy to leave it, but by this time the sales woman had spotted me and before I knew it I was seated in front of the mirror with their make up artist taking off my existing make up.
The coverage was light but good. It was denser than a tint but not heavy enough to cover my sun spots but what I loved was that my skin felt as though it could breath. The finish was so smooth and when applying the product it didn't congregate in the creases of my face, four hours on, it still hadn't which was great.
The shade applied to my face at the time was number 70 but I actually purchased 50 Beige as I have been to the beach a lot recently and have a bit of a tan, which I know will fade soon as the summer months are beckoning and I definitely will not be going out side when the heat sets in. Although I was not planning to buy a new concealer, the sales person was obviously on top form applying as many different products to my face as possible so I felt proud of myself for only walking away with these two items.
The concealer, I cannot rave about enough. As a combination, the foundation and concealer compliment each other, but it was the Correcteur Perfection that was definitely the winning product for me. It applies sooooo nicely to your skin, and I suffer from little wrinkles under my eyes and i felt so happy to find a product that lightened the under eye skin and that didn't sit heavy and my lines. The colour I opted for was 20 Beige Ivoire.
I wonder if any of you guys have tried this yet, if so, let me know how you got on with it? When I got home a made a mini-vlog about the products I bought which you can view here xx
