Reiss hosted a Gentlemen's evening at one of my favourite restaurants, Gaucho in DIFC, where I had the opportunity to sample the finer cut at their Steak Master Class by Executive Chef, Jamie Robertson. I made like a matador and skipped along is this red ruffle dress called Odessa.
THE MASTER CLASS
The steak master class was sensational. Firstly we had a demonstration on how cut the meat and then the class went on to discuss the different cuts and the best way to cook each joint. Typically I would order a fillet, medium rare, thinking that would be the smart choice. A tender piece of meat, very lean and cooked to a minimum reserving the juice. However, I was surprise to enjoy the T-bone the best. It was fatty but succulent, cooked a little more than I would usually order, but tender non the less. I cannot wait to go back to Gaucho and order this dish, as the taster was just so moreish. The meats were paired with a Argentinian Malbec, which smoothly refreshed the palette after each session.
This asymmetric rouge number is from Reiss, picked up at the Dubai Mall for 995dhs. There were only two pieces left so this was a bit of a panic buy, but I love it none the less. This is an unusual fashion choice for me, I'm not a lover of bold colours and I usually shy away from red as the contrast is too severe with my complexion. But I think this dress works, I like the frilled front as I think it makes the dress more feminine rather than sexy.
