Ayana Resort & Spa, Jimbaran

I've arrived in paradise. Also known as the Ayana Resort and Spa in Jimbaran, the very south of the island that is Bali.

As a little treat to end our time to Bali - and give myself a chance lay on a sun lounger drinking gin - we checked into a resort. Not usually our thing, to stay, eat and do activities on once complex as usually there is more to see. But Ayana offers so much to do, you would be pushed to have the time to explore outside the walls.

One piece of advise I would like to share - the breakfast was $50 per person a day, so we decided to leave this and book the room only. By chance, this turned out to be the best decision to make, as on arrival we were offered the opportunity to upgrade to a club room for $100 per day - and this included all food and drink.

Dinner @ Dava

Our last evening we went to Dava, a steak/grill restaurant, to celebrate our 2 year anniversary and toast our last evening in Bali.  The hotel put out all the stops to make this incredibly special. They set a table on a patio which floated on the pond, with candles lighting up the path that lead you there. We indulged. In wine and steak! And I couldn't recommend this restaurant more. I ordered the Aussie Lamb Cutlets, and I have never had so much meat on them before. For dessert, Dava arranged the traditional celebratory chocolate message, but we didn't have the heart to tell them that we wasn't married yet (awkward). I thought it was funny ;)
